Welcome to the UAB Study Away Blog! This is our first attempt at providing a blogging space for our UAB students who are studying overseas or domestically. We hope that this will be a chance for all students studying off-campus to tell their stories.

This summer we have students studying in China, India, Japan, Spain, Honduras and many other exciting and off-the-beaten-path locations. Our students are achieving amazing things such as assisting with infectious disease surveillance and control in Ecuador and Mexico, comparing educational systems in the US and Italy, exploring the African Diaspora in Ecuador, practicing the art of travel journalism while studying Indian Art History in India, etc.

Addtionally, we expect to have a record number of UAB students studying abroad. The UAB Scorecard goal is set at 154 students abroad for the 2007-2008 academic year. The final number will be posted to the UAB Scorecard Website in late December or early January.
